30 day V-WORD and Wild Rose D-Tox C-WORD

Vegetables

I got a $4.00 haircut this weekend. Oh, and I’m doing that 30 day V-WORD thing. The Wild Rose D-Tox C-WORD is a way for me to take it up a notch - and you know me, I like things extreme. Thanks for voting!

So here I go. Thirty days. I can do it. I will do it! The C-WORD is going to make the first twelve days hell though. Sitting on the toilet all day. Barfy. I might not be able to do that. Especially since I’m addicted to coffee, and I’m not allowed to drink coffee on the C-WORD. Not that coffee has anything to do with going to the washroom. Hmmmmm. Anyway. I have one of those cool French press mugs and I drink a pot every day. Mmmm fair trade organic coffee of dreams.

Actually now that I think about the, the C-WORD is very restrictive. Basically, the only thing I will be able to eat is vegetables and almonds. I hope I don’t die. Gosh darn it, I already want some coffee and I haven’t even started the C-WORD yet. Maybe this will be good for me.

Steve Pavilna wrote a blog post about the power of 30 days. Apparently it’s a really good thing, and I’m excited. Realistically the only thing I am going to miss is sushi… but I shouldn’t be spending $10 a day on sushi anyway considering I’m leaving on my adventures in less than three months. Did I say my adventures? I meant our adventures. Yeah.

So I’ll report back tomorrow… see how fancy the union of V-WORDism, laxatives, and herbal supplements is. Oh by the by, sorry about all the ads. If they really irritate you, please let me know. But I thought having a little extra spending money would be cool while I’m gone, and I assure you that every penny I make is going towards the trip.

As one of the nutritional scientists who comment on this blog (I see you also have a dietitian commenting! Lucky you, with all these free professional opinions!), I would like to point out that there does not appear to be any scientific studies on safety or efficacy of the Wild Rose D-Tox. I would also like to state that your experiences on the D-Tox are not representative of what it’s like to be a vegetarian… as you point out, this diet is rather restrictive and you will be on a bunch of herbs and such that also have effects. So even if your experiences on the D-Tox are less than pleasant, please don’t attribute them to vegetarianism.

This sounds a little extreme. 30 days? Take care of yourself. And I thought that you could eat fish on the Wild Rose D-Tox. Regardless, take care. This just sounds kina extreme. Be careful. And I agree with the previous poster. I dont think this is representative of a vegetarian diet or healthy eating necessarily. Maybe you wanna ease into it? …

I agree. Perhaps do one or the other, but doing both will weaken your immune system and leave you feeling unhealthy. A good ovo lacto vegetarian diet will keep you healthy and with all of the roughage you get from the vegetable and grains you will be eating you really don’t need the cleanse.

Take care

Like the new layout.

Say, where did you get that haircut from, hmm?

Ha ha. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post. I have an interesting update about the cleanse :P

Oh and Trenton, it was this random “Sue’s” place or something. She was a nice asian woman and I bargained a haircut (I only wanted the back cut) out of her… down from $12.

It was actually pretty scary. She pulled out one of those buzz-cutters and went at her. And by her I mean my hair. I was gripping the handles of the chair like I do when I’m at the dentist. But it turned out all right.

Oh PS, I’m glad you like the new layout. I was working on it all weekend. And yeah, I know that makes me sound like a huge loser. HUGE EPIC LOSER OF SAPPHIRE DREAMS.

hey jeremy david,

what a strange coincidence. I just started the wild rose detox too.
Don’t forget to soak your almonds before you eat them, something about an enzyme, and the future is bright as the diet is not coffee restricted. Max 2 cups per day.
I’ve been eating vegetable soup made with a lovely stock, tomato juice, and brown rice.

how very exciting!

good luck on your adventures
