The V-WORD post elicited some interesting comments:
Rex: Jeremy, you have great ambitions however…I will bet $20 that you cannot go V-WORDtarian (abstain from consuming any form of meat) for 30 days be it now or while on your trip. What do you say?
Cheers,
RexJeremy: $20 ‘eh? Am I allowed to eat eggs / milk? I’m intrigued…
Rex: Eggs and milk allowed. I will even give you the $20 before the challenge begins and rely on the honor system. If make it 30 days you keep the $, if not, you give the $20 back. Do you have a PayPal account?
Cheers,
Rex
Obviously I can’t do this without the green light. But I am intrigued. Being a vegetarian (especially going vegan) while backpacking would probably be a terrible idea. But I’m not leaving for a while. Should I try it now? (Oh, and I am going to assume that fish is included in the “meat” category… but you can correct me if I am mistaken). Choose my adventure!

I would say that fish is definitely included in the “meat” category. Really looking forward to following your veg experience if this gets voted into action!
Do it. This could be interesting, educational and transformative for you in terms of your eating habitss. Check it out with a doctor first, though, cause youre jumping into it. But there’s still lots of good, whole, unprocessed foods to eat without meat and fish. (Though fish is great for you…sustainable fish…this is Victoria for goodness sake!)
I voted in favour mostly because it will add more content to the site. It’s pretty unique to let visitors of a website decide something basic like your eating habits.
I agree that fish is not allowed. I’ve never understood vegetarians who eat fish. It’s eating a dead animal which I thought they were against.
Have some fun with this. Maybe share some delicious veggie recipes you discover with us.
