Good Day To You All!I recived an email yesterday from Inne ten Have (http://www.darwine.nl). Using my supreme logic and reasoning skills (and looking up .nl on the IANA website, ha ha), I’m guesing she he (my an my assumptions…) is from the The Netherlands. Inne gave me some very interesting information about some other people who have persued ideas similar to this website. An artist by the name of “Erla Haraldsdóttir (an Icelandic artist) made it possible for visitors of her website to control her. People could suggest a task ‘Welcome a stranger at the train station with flowers’… and she would perform and document it the next day. The project was for 21 days. The project was called AIR…”I never really thought about this website as potential art, but I guess it would be performance art on some level. She He also told me about a man named Jason Kottke who made a multi player gamed called “Ctrl-Shift” through which he would fulfill missions that people suggested and voted on, and broadcasted them live from WiFi hotspots in New York. When I was brainstorming for this website I certainly imagined incorporating a cellphone/PDA into it, and involing users in real time. I’m glad it can be done!I wasn’t able to find links to these pages, but it’s great that there is some background on this sort of thing - that I am not heading completely into the dark. To my knowledge, there have been no round-the-world trips controlled by visitors to a website, which is certainly a good thing in my books. I have full confidence in the collective consiousncess, and know your adventures will be fantastic.I guess all ideas have been done on some level, but as Inne so elequently put during our conversation, “I’ve learned that creativity is the art of combining - you’re right: all is done before! But the “great” artist does it with good timing
I think the time is there - good luck!”[survey_fly]Incase this survey doesn’t work (It didn’t at my office), I think this website needs a new name… Something to reflect the “Choose Jeremy David’s Adventures” aspect of it. Check out the contact section of and send along your ideas, if you have any!
