Best day ever!

Today I finished University, and was one of the best day of my life. Four years, done - certainly warrants the keyword “celebration”. Now I get to face the real world. Well, as real-world as letting random people choose my adventure for a year can be :P.

After class today I hung out with some really awesome people that I’ve never really spent a lot of time with, and had such an awesome time. It’s ironic, really - finding super cool friends the day before I move back to Vancouver… seventeen days before I leave on a trip around the world. I guess that’s life. No regrets! I still can’t get over shocked I am right now. Done school. It’s crazy. My friend made us dinner, we sat on the couch laughing non stop all day. We even organized a secret society. It was outstanding.

At one point during our 12 hours of mad fun we were reflecting on our lives and one of the guys - Rian - told us a story about Pizza day in elementary school and how his mom would draw a smily face on a hard boiled egg in lieu of pizza. “I never really liked pizza day…” I think you had to be there for it to be funny. My parents didn’t buy me pizza day either. And it was just. I don’t know. I’m still slightly intoxicated.

Good times, good times. Another friend, Jamie, and I were talking about how well we get along and how different our semester would have been had we only figured this out 3 months earlier. Such an intense night, and it put me in a really good mood.

Today was the perfect end to my University career, and tomorrow morning, 6 hours form now, I get to get up and go have breakfast at a restaurant with my roomates. It’s a cool place where you can flip a coin for you meal and pay double or nothing. I think - for the first time ever - I might flip for it… since I might never have that chance again. So sad.

I’m really looking forward to our adventure. Here’s a video I made on YouTube. Hahahahaha. Don’t take it too seriously :D

UVic Promotional Video

Ha ha. Remember that UVic Promotional video I was in? Well it’s online!

I think the best line is “they don’t just hire professors with PHDs. They hire professors with PHDs and relevant experience.” Say what? Wow. Move over Trya. I’m the next host of America’s Next Top Model. And author of a New York Times Bestselling novel.

*shudder*

I totally forgot about this. Notice the beard? That’s your doing. And now I like it. Oh shoot, I guess that cat’s out of the bag. I grew it back :P

I leave in less than 2 months!

Hey there!

I just looked at the little ticker on the side and am shocked to see that I’m leaving in less than two months.

Wow. There is a lot I have to get done.

I’m going to spend this week and July working on this page to get it all ready. Don’t worry - it’s going to look better than it does now.

Come early August, you’ll get to start choosing my adventure. So get ready with some ideas. I land in London on the 21st of August.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Entrepreneurship is intense

Long time no blog!

I started my last semester at University this week - the UVic Business Entrepreneurship Module. It’s intense. On day one we were told that we have 10 days to start a company and see how successful we can make it. My group decided we would sell advertising on Frisbees and give out 2,500 of them. Ha ha. It’s going to be a very interesting experience.

These pictures were the Commerce Pub crawl I went on, on Friday. I bet you can guess what song I was singing (Total Eclipse of the Heart). Good times. And yes, I am wearing shorts to the bar.

I had a terrible realization that I’m probably not going to be going on any Choose My Adventures anytime soon… but I peace out in August and it’s really not that far away.

And now I get to write my co-op report and buy some draino to get out all of my roommates’ hair from the drain. I hope draino burns hair. I guess I’ll find out soon.

It’s My Party And I’ll Karaoke If I Want To!

So this weekend I made a series of my own decisions. Ok, I’m lying. I’m terrible at making decisions. This weekends my friends helped me make a series of decisions.

On Saturday my friends had a barbecue for me. It was raining but they put up a tarp and it was really fun. I am actually glad it was raining, because the tarpness was awesome. I tried to eat five hot dogs, but I couldn’t. I remember one point, after drinking a bottle of wine, I asked what time it was. They told me it was 8:30. Great. Drunk at 8:30. I was a big loser.

But that didn’t stop us from having more fun. Emily suggested we go to the local Karaoke bar, and an hour later we were on a bus and heading that way. By this time I was out of touch with reality. The only thing I remember is doing an interpretive dance to Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life”, throwing up in the washroom, and singing “Total Eclipse of the Heart”… my favorite song.

Anyway. Double Peace Signs (22) is going to be a fantastic year.

On Sunday Morgan and I did some shopping (thankfully, neither of us were hung over). I feel like such a loser talking about being drunk… but I’m going to have to get used to it - seeing as how I am going to be blogging from Europe and Australia. I bought my backpack, a sleeping bag cover to shield me from bedbugs, some good traveling clothes, and a pair of hybrid sandal shoes. I’m very excited about it. I actually did make my own decision on Sunday. I decided not to buy a pair of $90.00 + tax lululemon pants. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Post Birthday Celebration

So I am half way through my birthday celebrations. Because no one here made any suggestions, I gave my friends free-reign on my birthday and they decided that I have a Birthday Barbecue… so I shall tomorrow. Oh, I’m heading to a crazy pants party post barbecue, so that should be exciting as well.

But you might be wondering what I did on my actual birthday. Well, my roommates and I made smores and drank wine. It was actually a lot of fun.

Tonight is ballot counting for the UVSS elections so I get to watch the numbers unfold. I actually really like this process and I anticipate that I will drink a pitcher of beer, through a straw of course. (Don’t worry, I’m not at the ballot counting in any official capacity.)

Oooh I forgot to mention! On Wednesday right when the polls open one of the election officials ran into the office and told me that there was a candidate missing from the ballots! I asked who it was, and of all people, it was Mike Waters (and another candidate… there were two people not on the ballot. I don’t know why I said one. Whatever.) Mike was disqualified last year. Ha ha, it seems like some sort of election spirit entity is trying to not-so subtly hint that elections might not be the greatest idea for him. It was suggested in the student newspaper that this was some sort of election conspiracy, but that’s silly. Obviously it would be found out if someone was not on the ballot, and we closed the polling stations within 5 minutes of finding out, reprinted the ballots, and started the election over.

Something happens every year. I guess I should have expected this. Anyway, I’m going to have a shower and get all pretty for tonight. I better look great for those fancy ballot counters.
